Bingo reading challenge
Our Goal
To create lifelong readers!
Students will be introduced to literature of all kinds and offered incentives for reading.
The reading program is structured to support readers at all levels and reading abilities.
Reading Challenge Deadline
The last day to pass off books for the BINGO Reading Challenge is Friday, April 10, 2026.
Pass off as soon as you finish reading so that it is fresh in your mind.
HOW IT WORKS
- ANY book appropriate for a student’s level will count as a BINGO book (picture books must be approved ahead of time).
- Boxes with a genre MUST be a book from the library list.
- Blank boxes can be ANY book (appropriate for a student’s level).
- So students don’t shy away from larger books, they count for more boxes (see book equivalency).
- Graphic Novels and Novels-in-Verse only count as ONE box no matter the page length.

Passing Off a Book
When a student finishes a book they will BRING the book AND their BINGO card to the library to talk with one of the librarians about the book.
This can be done during homeroom, lunch, or your class’s library visit. (Your ELA teacher can also pass off books.)
We will only pass off two books per visit.
